  Xinam I feel your pain!
  I'm not entirely sure what the deal is with this TV, because I have already contacted Hitachi about a different issue (the fact that there is no option anywhere to turn the dynamic contrast off), but they refused to help me with anything saying it has nothing to do with them, and that all problems need to be sent direct to comet!
  To me that says it’s some weird branded TV that Hitachi has stuck it's logo on especially for comet to sell nice and cheap. It's a shame because it's actually a nice TV (once all the picture and sound settings are fixed - worst default settings ever!) but I'm guessing that finding a remote code for this thing is going to be quite a challenge.
  Anyway if you do happen to find it out, please do share on here, as will I if I have any luck.

  Hitachi have been mostly just a badge for many years now, although they do make occasional sets - my 'Hitachi' is a Vestel, so try Vestel codes.

  I don't know if you have tried this........enter HITACHI REMOTE CODES in to your Google Search Engine ( or whatever you use.) There are quite a few ideas on the Sites.

  Got it working, used the 'step and set' instructions listed here. Great! For those interested, the code is 1130. Thanks for the help guys.
