Managing Taskbar Location

By default taskbar in Windows 8 is located at the bottom of the screen and, as discussed above, it is configured to remain always on top. However this approach might not be useful every time. When this is the case, users can change the default taskbar location and place it to any of the four sides of the window.

Users can change the taskbar location either by dragging the taskbar manually to either side of the window, or they can choose the appropriate location from the drop-down list available in the Taskbar tab of Taskbar Properties box.

4. From the context menu that appears, click to uncheck Lock the taskbar option in order to unlock the taskbar.
